Vocabulary


Nucleus- An internal compartment that houses the cell's DNA.

Mitochondria- Orgenelle that produces much of the ATP made by a eukaryotic cell.

Cell Membrane- Liquid bilayer with embedded protiens that enclose the cytoplasm essential to the cell's cytoplasm also called the plasm membrane.

Ribosome- Orgenelle on which protiens are made.

Golgi Apparatas- An orgenelle that packages and distributes molecules produced by a eukaryotic cell.

Endoplasmic Reticulumn- Cell membrane in the cytoplasm that transport substances made by the cell.

Liysosome- Orgenelle in a eukaryotic cell that contains digestive enzymes.

Vacuole- Membranebound cavity in plant cells used for storage.

Chloroplast- Organelle that uses light energy to make carbohydrates from carbon dioxide and water.

Cell Wall- The structure that surrounds the cell membrane and provides support for the cell.
